The free Fall Family Fishing and Children’s Festival at Hempstead Lake State Park takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16.

The CAST nonprofit, which serves seniors and families in Southold, aims to revive the property into a community resource center.

From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, those looking to lend a hand are invited to join in this beautification effort in the Bellport area.

The popular show pays tribute to the songwriting team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and features 40 songs that were top hits for artists like Elvis Presley, The Coasters, The Drifters and Ben E. King.

The job fair will be held on Tuesday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Freeport Recreation Center at 130 E. Merrick Road.

Though it is still six months until the official holiday in March, Farmingdale will hold a ½ Way to St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, Sept. 12 starting at 3 p.m.

The initiative is aimed at promoting the safe disposal of expired or excess prescription drugs to protect seniors, children, pets and the environment.

The Pickle Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the John Gardiner Farm. Admission/donation is $5 and children under 12 are free.

The Blaze, which runs from Sept. 22 through Nov. 7, features more than 7,000 hand-carved jack o’lanterns and elaborate pumpkin sculptures at the walk-through experience.

The in-person art fair will be held Sept. 2 through Sept. 5 at the Southampton Arts Center, however, the fair’s online viewing room is now open.

The solar field, along with fuel cells and harvested methane gas, will be part of an energy park at the landfill, which stops accepting waste in 2024 when it will be capped and closed.

The CM Performing Arts Center, which had been shuttered during the COVID-19 pandemic, is open again for its 47th season.

The farmers markets, open every Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. through Oct. 30, follow a “youth market model” and are staffed by Westbury teens, some paid and some volunteer.

The tasting event, which will feature craft beers from local and national breweries plus a selection of wine and hard cider for sampling, takes place at Belmont Park on Saturday, Oct. 2.

The money, from the federal government, will be used to resurface Runway 15R/33L and Taxiway Sierra.

The beach party takes place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, August 7 on Gin Lane beach.

Hempstead Town is hosting its first-ever field hockey camp next week at Oceanside Park. The camp kicks off Monday, July 19 and runs through Thursday, July 22.

The June 30 event to celebrate Pride Month was hosted by the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County and its 4-H Youth Development initiative.

Members of Central Islip Connect for Change constructed planter boxes and planted flowers at the Central Islip Recreation Center in an effort to spruce up the facility.

The bricks can be inscribed with up to three lines of 14 characters each to honor someone’s memory, celebrate an important event or mark a birthday or anniversary.

Among the works in the exhibition are three of Avery’s works from the collection of Academy Award-winning actor Peter O’Toole.
